Michael Chiklis Tapped to Star in Conan O'Brien's CBS Comedy Pilot

'Terriers' Star Donal Logue Cast in Marc Cherry's Musical Drama Pilot
The actor joins Jesse L. Martin, Terry O’Quinn, Frances O'Connor and Arielle Kebbel in ABC's Hallelujah.

Donal Logue has joined the cast of ABC’s musical drama pilot Hallelujah.

The project, from Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry, centers on a stranger who arrives in the small town of Hallelujah, Tenn., which is being torn apart by the forces of good and evil. He brings with him peace, justice and possibly faith for residents who desperately need the lift.

No doubt inspired by the success of Glee, Hallelujah episodes will be punctuated by songs from a gospel choir, which serves as a kind of Greek chorus.

Logue, who was last seen in FX’s critically acclaimed ratings disappointment Terriers, will play the part of Rye. He joins star Jesse L. Martin, along with Frances O'Connor and The Vampire Diaries’Arielle Kebbel, who have been cast as Ruth and Veda, respectively.

Cherry will write and executive produce the pilot, with Sabrina Wind (Desperate Housewives, Reba) serving as an executive producer. Michael Apted (The World is Not Enough, The Chronicles of Narnia) will direct.

Logue is repped by CAA and Kipperman Management.

The studio, which says it is the first to offer movies directly on the social media site, aims to roll out additional titles over the coming months.
Warner Bros. is turning to Facebook, where it hopes to find an electronic audience interested in digitally rentingThe Dark Knight.

Warners said Monday that it is the first Hollywood studio to offer movies directly on Facebook. Friends ofChristopher Nolan's Knight, the second of his two Batman movies, can rent the film by going to its official Facebook page and clicking a "rent" icon to apply Facebook Credits. The cost per rental is 30 Facebook Credits, or $3.

Viewers will have 48 hours from the purchase to watch the movie, which can be viewed full screen and also paused and resumed within that period. While watching the movie, consumers will also have full Facebook functionality, including the ability to post comments, interact with friends and update their status.

While the Knight offering is described as a test, Warners also said that additional titles for both rental and purchase will be rolled out over the coming months.

The current issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine explores the controversy caused by the designer's comments and the celebrities, like Sharon Stone, who stuck by Dior.

Fashion house Dior hired the crisis PR firm Kekst in the wake of recorded anti-Semitic comments made by designerJohn Galliano.

The comments caused an international outcry and compelled Dior to begin firing proceedings against the designer.
Calls to Dior for comment on the unfolding controversy by The Hollywood Reporter magazine were directed to Kekst, which worked with Borders after the company filed for bankruptcy and also has worked with AIG.

On Oscar Night, after Galliano’s anti-Semitic remarks circled the world, Sharon Stone wore Dior to Elton John’s viewing party. "I’m very proud to be working with Dior," Stone told THR. "This issue is not mine to discuss. If you want to discuss this matter further, please speak to the people at Dior."

Stone has been the spokeswoman for Dior's Capture Totale skincare line.

Natalie Portman -- the spokeswoman for Miss Dior Cherie perfume -- is believed to have scratched a Dior gown in favor of Rodarte.

She soon distanced herself from Galliano in a statementwhere she called his comments "disgusting."

Nicole Kidman wore Dior Haute Couture to the Oscars. Meanwhile, Charlize Theron, who almost always wears Dior and is the face of J’Adore perfume, donned Versace at the Vanity Fair party. Her rep wouldn’t comment on thecontroversy.

Galliano put out a statement Wednesday where he"unreservedly" apologized for the comments.
